Why Thailand Has So Many Civilian Guns

Thailand has many guns. More than 10 million guns are in the country. About 4 million guns do not have a license. This means they are not legal.

Every year, between 2,000 and 3,000 people die from guns. Many deaths happen during family fights or arguments about money. Some happen when people drink too much alcohol.

The government wants to make new rules. They want to stop selling cheap guns to police officers. They also want people to bring unlicensed guns back. The prime minister says these changes will help keep people safe.
