Spain Revives 'Goat-Cows' to Help Prevent Wildfires

In Galicia, Spain, people are using special small cows to stop wildfires. These cows are called Cachena. They are very small and can climb mountains like goats. People call them "goat-cows."

The cows eat plants that can burn easily. When they eat these plants, there is less fuel for fires. The cows help keep the land safer.

Many years ago, there were only 400 of these cows. Now there are 8,000! The government helps farmers keep them. The cows wear GPS collars so they can walk freely. This old way of farming helps prevent dangerous fires today.
