Apple Unveils Its Largest, Most Expensive Phone — a Foldable

Apple has shown its first foldable iPhone. The new phone is called the iPhone Duo. It opens like a book. When it is open, it looks like a small iPad. When it is closed, it looks like a wider iPhone.

The Duo starts at $1,999 in the United States. Apple says it is the largest and most expensive iPhone so far. John Ternus, Apple's new chief executive, presented it at the company's product event.

A foldable phone is not new. Other companies already sell them. But Apple hopes people will want its new design. The high price may make some buyers wait before they decide to buy one.
